Rande Schuck

Rande Schuck is an entrepreneur with more than four decades of experience in construction (domestic and international), contract work, business and real estate ventures that have provided significant return on investment. Rande is currently leading and managing the fund raising efforts for Aldea del Rio. He purchased the land in 2003 after identifying it ripe for investment and has worked with the Republic of Costa Rica to establish concession for building, surveys and legalities.

Rande continues to lay the foundation for future construction on his proposed resort. He has deeded the land in the National Registry of Costa Rica and has secured a contract that will bring electricity to the property as well as to a local school. In addition, he has retained a Costa Rican builder, had the land surveyed and the water checked.

Over the years, Rande combined his business savvy and 25 years of experience as a boat captain by founding Aldea del Rio Sport Fishing. The company offers fishing enthusiasts world class bill fishing and seasonal fishing experiences off the pacific coast of Costa Rica. Aldea del Rio Sport Fishing provides daily charters from the Sierpé River on a variety of capable boats, including four-24’ center console boats.

Prior to his work in Costa Rica, Rande was in semi-retirement and used his expertise in the construction business to built spec homes in San Carlos, Mexico for resale.

In 1984, Rande founded a contracting and construction business under his own name, RLS Design & Construction. He acquired several multi-million dollar government contracts for construction on military bases around the country. Out of RLS Design & Construction, he founded RLS Debris Removal in 1993, and secured contracts with home builders in the Phoenix area. RLS Debris Removal billed over $2 million a year and was sold to a larger waste management company in 2000.

Rande began his career in the 1960’s as a carpenter for a family-owned business until he moved on to start new and profitable construction-focused ventures.

Dave Gilmartin

Dave has been a fishing enthusiast his whole life. Growing up in the Midwest, he took many trips to the Lakes of Wisconsin and Michigan. He fished the Quetico Provincial Park in Minnesota’s Boundary Waters yearly as a teenager and also off the Florida coast.

His 35 year career in the travel industry allowed for him to continue his passion from Hawaii to Australia, Alaska, Mexico, Europe and South America… Dave has fished them all!

In 1981, he worked in the original marketing plan for Waterfall Resort on Prince of Wales Island, Alaska. While owning a diversified travel company in Los Angeles, CA he also began his own fishing operation in Craig, Alaska that resulted in the building of the 3 acre Eagles Nest Fishing Lodge. He sold the resort in 1996 and moved to Colorado and continued his fishing, not only in the beautiful streams and lakes of Colorado, but also up and down the Pacific Coast.

Dave has known Rande Schuck for 20 years and they often thought of different fishing enterprises together. Dave, with his travel industry background, heads up the sales and marketing efforts for Aldea del Rio from his home base in Las Vegas, Nevada. He continues to make trips to Costa Rica to assist in the operation, and along with Rande, they plan for the development and expansion of Aldea del Rio Sports Fishing.
